One of my favourites (if you like a bit of reggae) is K'Naan. He's been around a while but he hit it big at the World Cup in South Africa 2010 with Wavin' Flag (a lousy 'socceredpup' version which redirected the point of it). "Take a Minute" is one of my favorites.

Stromae - one of the most well known singers in France right now. Belgian guy who is pretty legendary! Sings about lots of controversial issues.

One of my faves is Morgan Bain. He's a young local musician + singer and has a great voice. He does a lot of cheap local shows and is brilliant live!
Favourite tracks: 'I think I've got you', 'Another Day', 'Unkind'
